Twisel Bridge

The bridge, the stone and the street lamp

Twisel Bridge
This bridge and its approaches
were erected in 1912
in memory of
Richard Patterson
Who for many years took an active part
in every good work in Holywood

Inscription on granite memorial stone

Many people are commemorated with text on stone, but Richard Patterson has a bridge and winding pathway to remind us of his “good works”. It is used and enjoyed every day by people of all ages – what could be more appropriate!
